As a kid I grew up obsessed with cartoons, comic books, and hip hop. These obsessions lead me to drawing frequently, filling out sketchbooks with my zany creations. As an adult, not only did these obsessions grow stronger, but my introduction to graffiti culture, street art, and contemporary art further inspired my artistic practice. Forever a kid at heart, my desire to create my own characters and worlds became my sole purpose as an artist. Often humorous, satirical, and sometimes morbid, my monstertoons represent the ups and downs of everyday life. A hybrid of old school animation, Graffiti, Lowbrow, and Kawaii art, each monstertoon is unique, with distinct characteristics and TONS of personality. With my art,I wish to offer a sense of nostalgia and joy, something that puts a smile on the face of anyone who sees it, as well as offering thought provoking insight. Saturated colour palettes, pastel hues, bulbous shapes and strange patterns, are just some of the things that make my work aesthetically pleasing to behold. My work is clean to evoke the flat shaded sentiments of it's inspirations i.e.: animation. As a self taught artist, I honed my craft by collaborating with a multitude of artists, through various projects, with art collectives, and mural painting. My art has been a part of many group shows, with art collectors both in the United States, and Canada. I've been gratefully enough, to have done murals, commissioned works, art installations, live painting. have my art featured at festivals, and have done fashion collaborations with non profits.
My art business has been designated as a "Trusted Art Seller" with
The Art Storefronts Organization, which means you can shop with confidence, and know that I stand behind the quality and value of my products.
